About us

Our research group was founded in 2015 at the Max Planck Institute for Coal Research (MPI-KOFO), a renowned center with a long tradition of groundbreaking advancements in chemistry. MPI-KOFO is the origin of breakthroughs like the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis of synthetic fuels, the Ziegler-Natta polymer production, supercritical coffee decaffeination, or metal-free organocatalysis. In the fall of 2018, Dr. Prieto joined the Institute of Chemical Technology (ITQ), relocating the group from Mülheim (Germany) to Valencia (Spain). ITQ is an excellence research center of the Spanish R&D system, internationally renowned for the development of nanosized and porous solids, such as zeolite molecular sieves, and their application as functional materials in new, more sustainable chemical technologies.

OUR TEAM

We are a motivated, dynamic, and highly collaborative team, comprising undergraduate students (MSc theses/TFM), PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and R&D professionals who work on innovative R&D projects supported by regional,
national and international funding as well as in partnership with industry.
