WINNER TECHNOLOGY AT INNOVATION CONTEST

A technology developed and patented by our research group for the sustainable production of chemicals has been selected as winner at the nationwide Activa-T Hackathon, organized by the Vice-presidency for Knowledge Transfer (VATC) of the Spanish Research Council CSIC.

The Hackathon, held in Seville, is part of CSIC Innovation’s Converge Open Innovation program, which aims to promote entrepreneurship grounded in scientific knowledge. The initiative, supported this year by Andalucía Emprende, and Sevilla Emprendedora, and dynamized by ¿Por qué no?, seeks to identify high-potential innovation projects and support their early development into viable business ventures.

Our group’s project, which leverages recent intellectual property to enable the selective production of commodity chemicals from deforestation-free raw materials such as CO₂, was selected as winner following a series of pitches to juries comprised of experts in innovation, technology transfer, and business development.

Congratulations on this achievement, which provides strong validation and support for the deep-tech innovation efforts spinning off from our research group.
